You printmakers out there may know the state(s)/stages part of making prints can become moments of the never ending speed hump. In the back of my mind is the thought "what other possibilities havnt i tried?" of course it can occur ever so easily the other way when things come together in the most natural way. I am still resolving those prints begun at the begining of the year & also several others that need to be finalised.. I am leaning toward some embossed shapes in the background at the moment( though these seem abit intruisive). It is noticeable though that selling & exhibiting state/colour proofs is more common now so eventually these might be someones treasured item.

sketchbook...pencil,paper,get away!

You know when you realise something thats been right there in front of you all along.. This is like that. You all are probably way better at this but i just used to draw immediatly onto plates, scratching & overlaying stuff. Well now i am trying & enjoying the feel of skecthbooks.. I have a lot of unfilled,halfilled sketchbooks around here & i have decided to also fill them & shelve them for times when the illusive idea escapes me....duh! It is also a wonderful time of drawing when you are able to process your thoughts & also experiment.. so heres to more drawings for prints in the making. I draw during ad breaks,waiting in the car park, at the doctors appointment & you know it feels good even when ive had too much coffee.

I received the Penang International catalogue yesturday...again another bumper show organised by the University Sains Malaysia & Penang Museum & Art Gallery which looked at printmedia through selected worldwide artists works.. This linocut was made last year but i havnt editioned it yet..."The Dolphin & the Crow"
