A terrific exhibition of Pacific Tapa in Queensland collections. The show Also provides a historical perspective about uses of tapa in various cultures of the pacific including Fiji, Tonga & PNG. I enjoyed the eclectic designs as well as display of equipment used to beat the cloth, to paint the designs& garments on display. There is a great element of engagement with Pacific communities in Queensland -sharing personal photos of weddings & i believe an outreach program & generally starting a dialogue about the diversity in Queensland in terms of the Pacific presence.
